If your hearts and ears are open, it can change your entire life. It’s about losing our minds and gaining the mind of Christ. You have to have the same world view that Christ has, otherwise you won’t understand the things He said. Everyone has a perspective and an opinion, but ultimately, we need to gain the mind of Christ. The way He viewed things is the way He thought of things. Look at the way He looked at purpose. It’s like the potter and the clay. You have to take a hammer to it and crush it until it becomes malleable to make clay. Love is to be in perpetual action towards someone else’s well-being. He chose perpetual actions for us over His well-being.
Submission means to go under, putting someone else’s desires above yours. Once you submit to God, go and love others like Jesus did. Well-being would mean in this sense to be made whole. If we are the dwelling place, that means as God’s people, we are a house of prayer. Prayer is your last resort when it should be your first one. It is your job to regulate your own personal relationship with God.
Meditation means to replay something over and over again in your mind. This kind of meditation is not like the Eastern world’s meditation, where they use the word OM and other sounds. Holding a grudge is a form of meditation where you basically replay the thing or things someone did to you. We must instead, meditate on the word of God. You cannot reach the heart of God without the mind of Christ. Live life with the mind of Christ. John 14:6: “I am the way, the truth, the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” Just saying a little prayer and believing in Jesus isn’t going to cut it. Saying it means nothing. If that was the case, even the devil would go to heaven because he believes Jesus lived and He died on the cross for our sins. It’s time to put some weight on your faith. We have to have a firm foundation.
1 Peter 2:5: “You also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.”
Isaiah 28:16, 17: “Therefore, thus says the Lord God: ‘Behold, I lay in Zion a stone for the foundation, a tried stone, a precious cornerstone, a sure foundation; Whoever believes will not act hastily. Also, I will make justice the measuring line, and righteousness the plummet…’”
Psalms 118:22: “The stone which the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone.”
The cornerstone set the structure and what the building could hold. We are supposed to be living stones set beside the corner stone. Exodus 20:25 says, “And if you make Me an altar of stone, you shall not build it of hewn stone; for if you use your tool on it, you have profaned it.” This passage is talking about building the altar. The cornerstone doesn’t change: we have to. Jesus sets the form factor. Religion is like a brick: it’s man-made and is formed the same way, which doesn’t work for everybody. Let Him fill the things that need to be filled.
Spiritually speaking, a foundation costs your life. Purpose is mentioned in 1 Peter 2:9, 10: “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.”
Matthew 6:9: “In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name…”
Deuteronomy 7:6: “For you are a holy people to the Lord your God; the Lord your God has chosen you to be a people for Himself, a special treasure above all the peoples on the face of the earth.”
Revelation 1:6: “And has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.”
(Google scripture on holy nation. You’ll be amazed at what you can find.)
Colossians 1:16: “For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him.” The more you praise God, the easier it will be to reach the lost people and things around you. All things happen for this purpose. Jeremiah 29:11: “For I know the thought that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.” Plans bring about a purpose. The plan is to get peace along the process to get to the purpose. Think about what it means to be constant and consistent in praise. He cares that you lift His name high, in front of others and in private. Trust God and praise Him anyway in every circumstance, good or bad. Don’t miss your purpose. If we are not actively worshipping or praising God, we are useless. When you start fulfilling purpose, you start seeing the plan.
Having a relationship with God and praising Him is the whole purpose. Captivity means to take away from wandering. How do you thank God for something you’re not happy about? It’s not easy, but we put ourselves God’s shoes when we decide what is good and what is evil. What is Christ’s mindset on prayer? His view of prayer was of the utmost importance. When was the last time you spent time with God just to know Him? It’s also very important to teach your kids to learn the Bible and get them to memorize scripture. If they can memorize songs on the radio, they can memorize scripture. They might not get it at first but it will be etched in their minds for the day they start to understand spirituality.
Romans 8:26-28: “Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God. And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” Search your heart and know what the Spirit speaks; know the mind of Christ. Be like Christ and intercede for others. To know the will of God, you have to know the mind of Christ; let the Spirit help you with your infirmities.
