I recently watched a show called “God in the Constitution” and found out some interesting facts and revelations. The U. S. Constitution was written in 1787 and ratified in 1789. A lot of people have come to believe that the Constitution is godless and has nothing to do with Christianity, but it has a lot more to do with the Bible than any other cited source. Our Constitution has been around for 232 years where the average constitution for other countries changes every 17 years. The U.S. has the shortest written Constitution in the world and focuses more on principles instead of specifics.
American Exceptionalism is the reality that we are the exception and more prosperous than other countries. It’s not being boisterous but mainly stating it as a fact. President Calvin Coolidge said, “The more I study the Constitution, the more I realize that no other document devised by the hand of man has brought so much progress and happiness to humanity… To live under the Constitution is the greatest political privilege that was ever accorded to the human race.” Earlier generations started studying the Constitution in elementary in a book titled “Catechism of the Constitution.”
“The Federalist Papers” by John Jay says, “Every member of the State ought diligently to read and to study the Constitution of his country and teach the rising generation to be free. By knowing their rights, they will sooner perceive when they are violated and be the better prepared to defend and assert them.”

Constitution Day is September 17th every year and is federal law but 90% of schools and almost 100% of agencies don’t follow Constitution Day. Until watching this show, I had no idea about this day myself. 70% of Americans don’t know the Constitution and about 60% can’t name a cabinet level department. The elective people are the only ones who are supposed to make laws but the judicial and the executive branch are illegally making laws and decisions constantly. There was a test done for every day citizens which found out that 71% of them failed the immigration test. Even worse, 78% of elected officials failed the same immigration test.
Progressives are people who are working to change the Constitution, saying it’s outdated and the dead should not rule the living. However, the principles of the Constitution don’t change with time. Academia wants a “godless” constitution to the point you can’t do anything religious in public. However, our Constitution is not godless. The Bible is 34% of the cited sources in the Constitution, more than any other cited reference. “Christianity is a part of the common law of the land, with liberty of conscience to all. It has always been so recognized… The U.S. Constitution allows it as a part of the common law. The President is allowed ten days (to sign a bill,) with the exception of Sunday.” Common law is a part of the 7th amendment.
Rufus King said, “In the oath which our laws prescribe, we appeal to the Supreme Being to deal with us hereafter to as we observe the obligation of our oaths. The Pagan world were and are without the mighty influence of this principle which is proclaimed in the Christian system.” This means God will hold them accountable when they take an oath. We put our right hand in the air and our left hand on the Bible, then say “so help me God” when we take an oath. The Bible says, “the Lord have mercy by His ‘Right’ hand” in Isaiah 62: 8 and “they shall take oaths in His name” in Deuteronomy 10:20. John Witherspoon put it this way: “An oath is an appeal to God, the Searcher of Hearts, for the truth of what we say and always supposes a calling down of His judgement upon us if we lie. Persons entering on public office are obliged to make oath that they will faithfully execute their trust. In vows, there is no party but God and the person himself who makes the vow. An oath, therefore, implies a belief in God and His Providence and is indeed an act of worship.” George Washington also went on to say “where is the security for property, for reputation, for life if the sense of religious obligation desert our oaths?”
In Article III Section 3 of the U.S. Constitution it talks about capital punishment saying, “No person shall be convicted of treason (death)- unless on the testimony of 2 witnesses in the same overt act.” It goes right along with Deuteronomy 17:6: “Whoever is deserving of death shall be put to death on the testimony of 2 or 3 witnesses. He shall not be put to death on the testimony of one witness.” Another part of our Constitution that is in line with the Bible is presidential requirements. Article II Section 1 says: “No person except a natural born citizen shall be eligible to the office of President.” In Deuteronomy 17:15, it’s pretty much the same concept: “One from among your brethren you shall set as king over you. You must not set a foreigner over you who is not your brother.”
The nature of the 55 delegates and our founding fathers who wrote the Constitution were mostly Christian. The “American Bible Society,” the “Christian Constitutional Society” and many other Christian societies were created by them. “It was in the spirit of true Christianity that the hospitality and blessings of the United States were offered to ALL the world; ALL were invited to enjoy it. It was the source of their inspiration and they sought to make the blessings available for human advantages. These institutions and laws were to be the instruments of Christian men for the good of the WHOLE human family,” said Stephen Colwell. The immigration policy was originally intended for people to come and to conform to Christianity, without prejudice. It was to benefit everybody as a wholesome way to live. Stephen Colwell also went on to say, “Hold on to the Constitution and to the Republic for which it stands. Miracles do not cluster, and what has happened once in 6,000 years may not happen again. Hold on to the Constitution!”
So many people have forgotten our roots, even those who claim they are proud to be American are devout Atheists. I know a couple of people who are like that. It is un-American to take God out of this country and is very sad that this nation has turned its back on God and everything that He stands for. This country has prospered and thrived under this Constitution and our Creator. Now that this country is becoming godless, all of these major problems are starting to rise up and give off the impression of Marxism and a totalitarian society where the government controls the people instead of the other way around. If we don’t get back to our roots, this country will go up in flames and we will be an unfortunate people who no longer control the government, but instead have the government control us. Let’s rise up and get back to our relationship with God our Father and “Make America Great Again!”
