AmeriLife Insurance: Morally Motivated

AmeriLife is a brokerage insurance company that has been putting clients' needs as their number one focus for the last 51 years. Brokerage insurance companies are not tied down to one specific insurance company, which means they have more options for the clients to where they are not paying for things that they don't need and paying for things that they do need. James Howard and Gene Manes work for the AmeriLife office out in Hurst, with almost 40 years combined working in the insurance industry. I sat down to talk with them about what AmeriLife is all about.

"We know what we're talking about when it comes to health insurance because we have to sit down and take about 30 to 40 different tests a year just to be able to sell health insurance because health insurance is constantly changing," said Manes. "Then, we have to take a test to renew our license every 2 years and have to pass with a 95% or better to be able to sell insurance. We have three chances and if we don't pass, we can't sell insurance for the entire year." On top of that, they have to take a 50 question test yearly to be able to sell Medicare. So rest assured, these men and the other AmeriLife agents know what they're talking about when it comes to the needs of their clients.

With the amount of time that AmeriLife has been around, they know the ins and outs to health insurance. "AmeriLife has 130,000 employees nationwide. There are only a few in Texas. We are the only one in the DFW metroplex for the last 5 years. We are considered a career office, which means we are locked in to working for Amerilife. AmeriLife is a $2 billion a year company," explained Gene. They work with all major health insurance companies like Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Humana, and many more. They have different kinds of health insurance, like Medicare advantage plan, Medicare supplement plans, Medicare part D plans, dental, hearing, and vision; major medical, indemnity coverage, long-term healthcare coverage, short-term healthcare coverage, critical illness care coverage, and even cancer coverage. They also help individuals looking to set up IRA's and 401K's.

AmeriLife is a selling arm for insurance companies, but they represent so much more than just selling health insurance. They have strong morals about making sure their customers get the right insurance policy for them. They never try to oversell or under sell their clients based on each client's need. They are a company looking out for individuals making sure that high health insurance costs doesn't severely impact someone's savings account or credit by setting up every client with the right health insurance plan and the right insurance provider for them.
