HOTWORX in Waxahachie has managed to survive and thrive despite being closed from March 19th to May 18th last year due to Covid-19 after opening their doors in January 14, 2020. They offer a variety of sessions, but what sets them apart from other fitness studios are the infrared saunas where most of the workout sessions are performed.
Infrared saunas offer more than just losing weight quicker while working out. Infrared energy creates heat through invisible light that travels in wavelengths. "Infrared saunas detoxifies, reduces cellulite, and speeds up recovery," said Lexi Hamilton, a sales representative at HOTWORX. It also reduces fine lines and wrinkles, as well as reduce the appearance of stretch marks. "HOTWORX makes no health claims, but the many health benefits are backed by sound scientific research," said owner Janie Sullivan.
"HOTWORX in Waxahachie has eight saunas, four for isometrics and four for cardio and HIIT. Virtual sessions go on 24/7, so whatever your schedule is, you can come workout anytime," said Emme Sullivan, general manager of HOTWORX. Another great thing about Infrared saunas is "More Workout Less Time," the official motto of HOTWORX. You get better results overall working out in less time than outside the sauna.
Isometric exercises offer an extra level of benefits by detoxing the body and organs through various types of positions performed during the workout. The isometric sessions offered are: Hot ISO, which uses isometric compression postures; Hot Buns that focuses on the glutes; Hot yoga which is an athletic style yoga; Hot Pilates is a workout incorporating traditional plates. Other isometric sessions are Hot Barre None, which is a unique ballet workout without using the ballet barre; Hot Bands uses body resistance bands during workout; Hot Warrior is an advanced series of isometric postures; and Hot Core focuses on the core, hips, and lower back.
The Cardio and HIIT sessions offered are Hot Cycle, which uses a stationary bicycle with choreographed intensity intervals; and Hot Blast which promotes strength, endurance, and Cardio HIIT for a total body workout. All of the sessions mentioned are done virtually on a screen so that they can be done anytime of day. There is also a separate section of the gym, called the Fx Zone, that offers the use of free weights, bands, ropes, and other equipment for use anytime before, after, or in between your workout.
HOTWORX offers a three month commitment instead of yearly so that it's not as long of a commitment like standard studios and gyms offer. The basic membership called Sweat Here is $59 a month and Sweat Everywhere is $69 a month that gives you free access to other locations, virtual personal training, and HOTWORX at home. All memberships have a $99 enrollment fee but it's only $49 for the entire month of April. HOTWORX is located in Waxahachie at 1700 N HWY 77 in Suite 198, in between Dentures + Implants Solutions and America's Best.
