Yesterday at the Red Oak Police Administration Building, the Red Oak Police and Fire Departments were presented with a thoughtful donation by the Green Funeral Home and Green Pet Care residing in Ferris, owned by Ben Lafleur and Glyn Richards. Their donation will help the men and women of the police and fire departments have better visibility at night.
Each department was given 10 Guardian Angels, an LED safety light that has colorful flashing lights specific to each department. The fire department's 10 Guardian Angel's flash red and the police department's flash blue and red. Both sets of lights have the regular white LED light that can be seen at a range of up to 5 miles. They have an earty magnet back that can be attached to the lapel of the officer or firefighter wearing it.
Red Oak Chief of Police Garland Wolf accepted the 10 Guardian Angels for the police department. Fire Chief Ben Blanton accepted the Guardian Angels on behalf of the fire department. They were dropped off around 2pm yesterday afternoon by the two generous gentleman who have seen a surge in business lately and wanted to share some of their success with Red Oak's first responders.
